It’s Getting Loud (Again)

For NO Reason

Days like today tend to create more noise than signal.

Whenever the market sells off, it naturally brings out a lot of strong opinions.

People share charts they’ve been holding onto.

Narratives get amplified.

The volume rises on both sides of the tape.

But if we step back and look at what price has actually done, the message is much quieter than the commentary.

Here’s the past month of the S&P 500 using 65-minute candles.

It’s been a sideways market. A few pushes higher. A few pullbacks. Net-net, we haven’t gone anywhere.

And that’s the reality that matters.

Not the noise.

Not the emotion.

Not the rush to make a one-day move mean more than it does.

This is simply a market waiting for direction.

Until we get a clear resolution, conviction should stay measured.

Trend isn’t trending. It’s chopping.

When it chooses a path, that’s when conviction gets rewarded.

Anyway, that’s my two cents.

Tomorrow I’ll walk through the levels that actually matter in this environment.

Twenty charts in twenty minutes.

An eye on conditions that would mark improvement, and the signals that would tell us the market has chosen a path.
