30 Stocks… But You Can’t Buy Them All 🎯

Today's number is... 30

The Dow holds 30 stocks, and they are not moving the same way.

Here’s the table:

Let's break down what the chart shows:

  • The table lists all 30 Dow Jones Industrial Average stocks, grouped into leaders, middle of the pack, and laggards.
  • Each row displays year-to-date performance, market capitalization, sector and industry classification, trend rankings, RSI values, RSI regimes, and distance from the 50-day average, 200-day average, 52-week high, and all-time high.
  • Green shading marks stronger readings, while red shading marks weaker readings.

The Takeaway: Not all 30 stocks are telling the same story right now.

When you look at the table from top to bottom, you see a clear split between the names that are actually trending higher and the ones that are not participating.

At the top, the leaders stand out. These are the stocks with strong trend scores, price above key averages, and momentum holding in bullish ranges. That is where the bulls are showing up, and these names are doing most of the heavy lifting.

But once you move past that group, the picture changes quickly.

A large part of the index is sitting with mixed signals. Some are above short-term averages but below longer-term ones. Momentum flips back and forth. These are not clean trends. These are names that look fine one day and go nowhere the next.

Then you get to the bottom of the table, and it is just weakness. Stocks are below key levels, momentum is in bearish ranges, and many are still down 20% to 50% from their highs. They are lagging, and they continue to lag.

This is why you cannot just buy everything and expect it to work.

The outcomes are completely different depending on where you are positioned. If you are in the leaders, you will see it in your P&L. If you are not, you are stuck in names that are not moving or still moving the wrong way.

This is a stock picker’s market in the clearest sense. You have to choose the names that are actually trending and showing momentum.

There is no room to be lazy here.

You don’t get paid for owning stocks… You get paid for owning the right ones.
